Jared Allen has his sites on a new contract, but NOT with the Vikings
With the Vikings falling apart, Jared Allen has decided his new chapter in life will NOT be with them. Allen has expressed he has interest in a few teams, but the Vikings were no longer on that list.
Allen is focused on teams closer to contending as he enters free agency for the first time in his career and negotiates what likely will be his final contract.
The team has asked for the opportunity to match any offer and are expressing strong interest in bringing him back. Jared Allen has made it clear that this is not in his plans right now and he is excited about exploring other options.
After watching the Vikings sign Griffen and Brian Robison, they pretty much showed Allen they were ready to move on. Allen’s run with the Vikings comes to an end after six seasons, 85.5 sacks and plenty of recognition as one of the best pass rushers in the NFL.
